Foot over foot through a carpeted hallway, I walked to his door. I knocked and I realized that for the past hour I had felt rushed and I wasn't even paying attention to trying to wear a shirt or find a pocket for the things I was holding in my crowded hands. He answers and opens the door in a black shirt and with my surprised face I apologized for looking so out of order. I said I wanted to say bye before I go. And he, smiling, put out his arms out while I asked can I give you a hug and then did. Talking into my left hand which was holding his back I said I am so sorry for everything and blah blah it's ok. No really. Leaving the hug but still holding each other and our smiling faces in parallel eyesight. Some other things said but I couldn't hear. And my body language gestured leaving. And we mentioned something about the Summer. He said “just once” in a heavy way and I wasn't sure what he meant I might have been distracted. I asked just once what?

Then I woke up...
